Ed Russo, one of President Donald Trump’s steadfast cheerleaders, is building a new team to advise the president on the environment.

Trump announced before he took office this month that Russo, a longtime environmental consultant for the president’s businesses and the author of a book calling Trump an “environmental hero,” would lead a new environmental advisory task force.

The mission, Russo said in an interview Monday, “is to focus on the environmental policies of the president, which are clean air and clean water and protecting our natural resources. That is a practical, commonsense approach to environmental protection.”

Trump’s announcement offered no details about members of the task force and how it will operate. Russo is still waiting for the White House to answer some of his questions about how it will work, too, he said Monday.
