Trump picks Paris Agreement foe for White House policy gig

Former senior Trump administration official Stephen Miller is set to return to the White House in January.

Trump’s longtime immigration aide is set to join Trump’s White House team as deputy chief of staff for policy, multiple news outlets reported.

Vice President-elect JD Vance confirmed the pick on social media Monday. “This is another fantastic pick by the president. Congrats @StephenM!” Vance posted on the social media platform X.

Miller became known during the first Trump administration for his work guiding the administration’s immigration policies. Miller has also been a public critic of the Paris climate agreement, the global climate deal that Trump exited during his last administration and said he plans to exit again.
