President-elect Donald Trump’s picks to lead EPA and the departments of Energy and the Interior will all get confirmation hearings next week.
They will be among the first of Trump’s nominees to face questioning from Senate committees as the new Republican governing trifecta prepares to implement its agenda, which includes expanding fossil fuel production.
Other nominees, especially those focused on national security, are expected to get their hearings as soon as next week.
Lee Zeldin, a former Republican House member from New York, will testify before the Environment and Public Works Committee next Wednesday or Thursday, said Chair Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.).
