The Sierra Club, a vocal opponent of former President Donald Trump, has signed on one of his former administration officials to lobby on its behalf.
The environmental organization has enlisted John Twomey, a consultant at the bipartisan Tiber Creek Group and former Trump administration official, as one of its lobbyists, according to a disclosure filed Monday. The registration was effective June 4.
Prior to serving at the Department of Health and Human Services during the Trump administration, including as chief of staff in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Legislation, Twomey served on Capitol Hill in the offices of then-Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) and as an intern for then-Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.).
Sierra Club has also enlisted Tiber Creek group consultant Dan Zawitoski, former chief of staff to Rep. Scott Peters (D-Calif.), as a lobbyist, the disclosure shows.
