The Senate will return from a two-week recess July 8, with judicial nominees as the first order of business.

Lawmakers will take a final vote on Nancy Maldonado to serve on the 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Maldonado — currently a district judge in Illinois — advanced Thursday 43-27.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) also set action on Robin Meriweather for a seat on the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and Patricia Lee for the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board. Meriweather is currently a magistrate judge in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
