The Biden administration has failed to adhere to a sweeping Supreme Court ruling that exempts a huge swath of wetlands from federal oversight, House Republicans said Thursday.
In a letter to the heads of EPA and the Army Corps of Engineers, 27 lawmakers accused the administration of regulating too many streams and wetlands and slow-walking permits for infrastructure projects.
The letter was led by Republican Reps. Sam Graves of Missouri, chair of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee; David Rouzer of North Carolina, chair of the Water Resources and Environment Subcommittee; and Rick Crawford of Arkansas, chair of the Highways and Transit Subcommittee.
“It is disconcerting that the administration is ignoring the clear decision of the Supreme Court in order to facilitate an overreach of federal authority, expanding jurisdiction over waters in which the federal government shall have no involvement,” the lawmakers wrote.
