The American Clean Power Association will flood Capitol Hill on Wednesday in a lobbying push to maintain Inflation Reduction Act incentives, but it won’t be high-level executives who will be making the case for the climate law.

More than 160 “front-line workers” from across the renewable energy supply chain — including solar panel installers, wind turbine manufacturers and electrical engineers — will meet with members of Congress to outline the job-creating impacts of clean energy projects bolstered by the Inflation Reduction Act.

The blitz comes as Republicans work to finalize the tax portions of their party-line megabill before a committee vote as soon as next week. Congressional leaders and the administration are working to decide what parts of the climate bill survive, get tweaked or die.

“Clean energy is strengthening America’s energy security and economic resilience as electricity demand is projected to surge 35–50% by 2040,” ACP told POLITICO’s E&E News. “These projects aren’t just about power, they’re about people.”
