Senate committees will vote on more nominations from President Joe Biden this week, including Amtrak and ocean management positions.

The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee will meet to consider nine nominations Thursday. The roster includes the reappointment of Louis Sola to the Federal Maritime Commission, an independent regulator that oversees ocean commerce.

Sola was first appointed during the Trump administration and was renominated by Biden earlier this year. He has been a strong voice against fossil fuel restrictions and a supporter of natural gas infrastructure.

The committee will also vote on four appointments to the Amtrak board of directors. One of the nominees, Ronald Batory, led the Federal Railroad Administration for a portion of the Trump administration.
