Elon Musk is targeting the Sierra Club as President-elect Donald Trump and his allies continue to blame environmental policies for worsening the impacts of the wildfires devastating Southern California.

Musk, one of Trump’s closest confidants who plans to work with the incoming administration to downsize the federal government, blasted the environmental advocacy group on social media Friday.

“Defund Sierra Club,” Musk posted on his social media website X. He reposted another user’s comment criticizing the environmental group for its stances on eucalyptus trees in San Francisco and prescribed burns in Los Angeles, where the fires are raging.
