Montana Gov. Greg Gianforte said Tuesday that his state will help the Trump administration “unleash” American energy.

“I made the commitment to the Trump administration that Montana stands ready to do our part to expand energy production and to help make America affordable again,” the Republican governor said.

Gianforte spoke at a roundtable he hosted in Helena, which was attended by representatives from state agencies, utilities, refineries, energy suppliers and data centers. He said he’s had “several conversations” with President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees to “express my excitement” about working with them around energy, including one last week with Chris Wright. Wright, the CEO of fracking services company Liberty Energy, is Trump’s pick to helm the Department of Energy.
