The House passed several bills by voice vote Monday afternoon, a number of which are geared at improving the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s work.
All of the bills saw bipartisan support and passed under suspension of the rules, a process meant to fast-track noncontroversial legislation.
S. 310, the “Disaster Contract Improvement Act” from Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.), reached the House floor after passing the Senate in December 2023.
The legislation would direct FEMA to establish a working group on debris removal contracts, with an eye on how to increase collaboration with state and local agencies.
