President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for Agriculture secretary, Brooke Rollins, will appear before the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry Committee next Thursday, as her nomination appears on track to sail through without much controversy.

Senators on both sides of the aisle have responded positively — or without objection — to Rollins’ nomination, which stands in sharp contrast to some of Trump’s more polarizing nominees.

She also has the backing of many large farm policy and related organizations, which sent a joint letter of support to the committee’s top leaders Wednesday.

“Ms. Rollins has been engaged in American agriculture since an early age, baling hay and raising livestock in Glen Rose, Texas,” wrote the organizations, including the American Farm Bureau Federation, National Farmers Union and National Association of Conservation Districts. She received a bachelor’s degree in agriculture development at Texas A&M University.
