As government workers return to in-person work, EPA is set to audit their telework and remote work programs to improve “operational efficiency.”

In response to a request from Congress, EPA’s Office of Inspector General will audit the agency’s telework and remote work programs and examine locality pay for those with that status.

The agency says the objective is to determine whether EPA ensures employees are paid the correct locality pay in accordance with regulations and policy. It will examine multiple offices, including the Office of Mission Support, the Office of the Chief Financial Officer and select regional offices.
