EPA’s biggest union is backing President Joe Biden for reelection, warning that a potential second Trump administration would be “catastrophic” for environmental agencies.

American Federation of Government Employees Council 238, which represents more than 8,000 EPA employees, announced Tuesday its first-ever political endorsement. The union praised Biden for supporting the civil service and his commitment to fight climate change.

“Over the past four years President Biden has shown up for us, so we are going to show up for him in November,” AFGE Council 238 President Marie Owens Powell said in a statement, adding the union’s members know this is “a crucial moment for our planet” and this upcoming election will have “serious consequences.”
