Duffy confirmation hearing for Transportation chief tentatively set

The Senate Commerce Committee is tentatively planning to hold a confirmation hearing for Sean Duffy, the Department of Transportation secretary nominee, on Jan. 15, a committee aide confirmed Tuesday.

Further scheduling details weren’t immediately available. Punchbowl News first reported the date.

Duffy is a former House member from Wisconsin and has worked as a personality on Fox Business. He was also a district attorney in his home state.

His path to confirmation, barring some revelation, appears to be smooth. Several Commerce members, both Republicans and Democrats, have so far been positive about Duffy’s nomination.
