Mark Paoletta will return to the Office of Management and Budget as general counsel for the incoming Trump administration.

Paoletta held that same position during President-elect Donald Trump’s first term in office. Paoletta and Russell Vought, Trump’s pick to lead the powerful budget office, are expected to add teeth to plans to reshape the civil service system toward political loyalty to the president.

Trump said on social media Monday night that Paoletta is “a brilliant and tenacious lawyer” as well as “a conservative warrior.”
