A climate group that made a name for itself protesting Democratic officials is urging President Joe Biden to end his campaign following his debate against former President Donald Trump.

“President Biden must step aside. For the sake of our imperiled climate, for the sake of our democracy, for the sake of our country, it is time for Biden to end his reelection campaign,” Climate Defiance founder and Executive Director Michael Greenberg said Friday.

“Defeating Trump and Trumpism is existentially important for our climate and our democracy,” Greenberg said. “Last night proved President Biden is not up for the job.” The protest group has interrupted events and speeches featuring senior administration officials, energy executives and lawmakers to draw attention to climate change.
