Donald Trump’s Agriculture secretary nominee, Brooke Rollins, made over $1 million as president of the America First Policy Institute, a Trump-aligned think tank, according to executive branch financial disclosures released Friday by the Office of Government Ethics.
Rollins also submitted an ethics pledge to OGE in which she promised to shutter her consulting business, BLR Ideas, and to resign from positions with the America First Policy Institute, America First Works and the Texas Public Policy Foundation.
Rollins’ confirmation hearing was delayed as the Senate awaited her financial disclosure and ethics paperwork, required of certain executive branch nominees. It is now scheduled for Thursday. She is expected to be easily confirmed in the Republican-controlled Senate.
Rollins’ ethics pledge also revealed that her husband, an employee of Hillwood Energy and HKN Energy, participates in company net-profit plans but does not hold stock in the companies. As part of her ethics pledge, Rollins agreed that she would not participate in matters that affect the financial interests of these oil and gas companies.
