The White House on Friday announced plans to appoint six members to the Nuclear Waste Technical Review Board.

The panel conducts independent reviews of Department of Energy activities associated with managing and disposing of high-level radioactive waste and spent nuclear fuel.

All six appointees have extensive scientific backgrounds, from groundwater contamination to nuclear waste removal.
