Biden hits Trump on Puerto Rico during infrastructure speech

President Joe Biden, who traveled to Baltimore on Tuesday to tout his record on infrastructure, took the opportunity to knock former President Donald Trump with just days until the election.

Trump is facing a backlash after a comedian opening a Trump rally in New York on Sunday made racist and vulgar jokes. The comedian’s contentious remarks included calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” Trump told ABC News that he didn’t know the comedian and hadn’t seen his comments.

Biden slammed Trump over those comments during his infrastructure speech.

The Biden administration on Tuesday announced selections for nearly $3 billion of investments from EPA’s “clean ports” program. Those grants will support the use of zero-emission equipment in addition to climate and air quality planning projects at ports across the country, EPA said. The grants are funded by the Inflation Reduction Act, the massive climate law enacted during the Biden administration.
