EPA’s top diversity official is leaving the agency as federal inclusion efforts come under threat from the incoming Trump administration.

Christopher Carr, who is EPA’s first senior adviser for diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEIA), is leaving the agency at the end of the year. His departure, although long planned, comes during a delicate time as President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to root out the Biden administration’s diversity push.
