Gina McCarthy is feeling better about the presidential race.
The former White House climate adviser is grateful to President Joe Biden for his decision to drop out of the November presidential contest, McCarthy said in a recent interview.
She’s also enthusiastic about Democrats’ new ticket, featuring Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. McCarthy praised their climate records and the new vibe they’ve brought to the campaign.
She loved Walz’s comment that Harris was “bringing back the joy,” during their first rally last week. “Everything feels different now. Everything feels lighter,” McCarthy said.
