The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee will hold votes this week on more than 30 pieces of legislation, many affecting agency operations.

The markup agenda includes S. 4043, the “Telework Transparency Act of 2024,” from committee Chair Gary Peters (D-Mich.) and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), which would have agencies reveal telework policies and better track remote workers.

A proposed amendment from Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) to monitor federal employee activity derailed the bill’s passage in May, when the committee cleared the “Telework Reform Act of 2023,” S. 3015, on remote work training and reporting.

Also on the list is S. 4679, the “Permitting Council Improvement Act of 2024,” to improve the operations of an agency tasked with accelerating infrastructure project approvals.
