Morale has taken a dive at the Sierra Club as the green group lays off employees for the second time in a little more than a year.
Leaders of the environmental organization officially announced the latest round of employee layoffs last week, saying staff cuts were needed to bring expenses in line with revenue. The group said it planned to reduce its current workforce by about 10 percent.
The details are still being hammered out as Sierra Club’s management negotiates with union representatives and as some employees weigh whether to accept voluntary separation incentives offered by the group.
