The Biden administration took one of its biggest steps yet to combat climate change, issuing rules Wednesday to ratchet down tailpipe emissions limits for cars, trucks and SUVs and turbocharge the adoption of electric vehicles.
EPA estimated that under this rule, 68 percent of new cars sold in 2032 will be electric vehicles — surpassing along the way the president’s goal of 50 percent electric vehicle sales by the end of the decade.
