With eyes on a prize, researchers hunt for a cost-effective CO2 'scrubber'

A scientist has washed carbon dioxide right out of the air using the equivalent of a greenhouse gas sponge. University of Calgary physicist David Keith erected a 20-foot tower in a Canadian stadium and sucked the equivalent of 20 tons of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere. It's a concept that some scientists have dismissed as a waste of resources and time, but one that is gaining attention. Go to story #1
